Stölting Marina awarded the „Maritim“ seal of quality

Stölting Harbour in Gelsenkirchen

GELSENKIRCHEN. Maritime flair with state-of-the-art technology in the heart of Gelsenkirchen: following a comprehensive reorientation, Stölting Marina has now been awarded the German Motor Yacht Association's „Maritim“ seal of quality, which is renowned throughout Europe. With the marina receiving this award, the seal of quality has now been awarded only 89 times in Europe. „As the namesake of Stölting Marina, we are very proud that the harbour facility is now receiving the recognition it has deserved since its inauguration in August 2018. Stölting Marina is the heart of the Graf Bismarck district, and the ‚Maritim‘ seal of quality, which is recognised throughout Europe, will help to communicate this to the outside world in future,“ emphasises Sebastian Mosbacher, CEO of Stölting Service Group GmbH.

The award was accepted by Boris Westerfeld, COO of Stölting Service Group GmbH. „I am delighted to receive the ‘Maritim’ seal of quality today, especially as only 89 ports across Europe have received this award. For Stölting, the marina has been a matter close to our hearts since our company headquarters were built in the Graf Bismarck district – which is why it bears our name. The fact that the marina has received this award shows us that we are among the 89 best ports in Europe.“ André Grünebast and Ralf Bendfeldt from the German Motor Yacht Association presented the award to those responsible. They had travelled specially from East Frisia for the occasion. „It was worth it for us,“ says Ralf Bendfeldt. „The Stölting Marina is no stranger to me. I moored here myself in 2020 and spent some time here. Back then, the Stölting Marina was already in good condition – and now it has become even better.“

Extensive modernisation programme

The award of the quality seal is the result of an extensive modernisation programme that has upgraded the marina in recent months. „The work and measures carried out around the marina to date have borne fruit,“ says harbour master Peter Krämer, delighted with the award. „Not everyone is awarded the quality seal, as it requires certain prerequisites – which we have also created with the modernisation. That is why it is recognised by boaters throughout Europe.“ Under the leadership of Peter Krämer, the jetty was secured against unauthorised access, a camera system was installed and the quality of the moorings was improved. Extensive Wi-Fi coverage with access points at each jetty also improves the internet connection for visitors. A long promenade and a wide range of dining options, including the Mosbachers restaurant, invite visitors to linger.

Attractive award with charisma

The „Maritim“ quality seal gives water sports enthusiasts the opportunity to get an idea of the comfort level of the guest harbour when planning their trip. It confirms to visitors that they can expect quality that has been tested by the German Motor Yacht Association – and which is continuously monitored. This is because the „Maritim“ quality seal is limited to a period of five years and the ports„ compliance with the requirements is also regularly checked in the meantime. For Stölting, the “Maritim" quality seal is an attractive award with appeal that confirms the quality of the port.

New harbour master's boat for the marina

Along with the awarding of the quality seal, the marina's harbour master's boat was also christened. With the „Stölting 1“, harbour master Peter Krämer now has a mobile workplace from which he can take care of all matters relating to the harbour.
