BOE International in Dortmund is one of the most important meeting places for the event, trade fair and live communication industry and is much more than just a trade fair for the Stölting Service Group. „BOE is a home game for us,“ says Daniel Krol, authorised signatory of Stölting Werkschutz GmbH and Head of Technical Security. As the keynote speaker, he spoke about a topic that is currently of great concern to the industry: hybrid security services and the question of how security must be conceptualised in the future.
Rethinking security
In many discussions at the trade fair, it became clear what organisers and companies are struggling with today: rising costs, a lack of personnel and, at the same time, higher demands on security and transparency. This is precisely where Daniel Krol's presentation came in.
„Security is no longer a necessary evil that disappears somewhere in the budget,“ he emphasised. „It can be a real enabler.“
Based on the concept Exhibition Pro he showed how modern security solutions not only protect, but also create real added value. For example, through insights into visitor flows or logistical processes. Security is thus transformed from a pure cost factor into a reliable partner at eye level.
Why hybrid is the future
For Daniel Krol, the future does not lie in people and technology working against each other, but in their interaction. Security is becoming increasingly preventative, data-based and predictive.
Technology can observe, measure and analyse around the clock. It is present everywhere at the same time and never tires. But when it comes down to it, experience, intuition and decisiveness remain indispensable, and with them the people in the security service. Hybrid security services combine precisely these strengths and create solutions that are both economically and qualitatively convincing.
Outlook: Security 2026
Looking ahead to the coming years, Daniel Krol is focussing on one topic in particular: „Visibility through data“. In future, technological solutions will become an even more natural part of modern security concepts. At the same time, the importance of resilient security structures is growing. Also and especially in the event sector.
„Our aim at Stölting is to be more than just a traditional service provider,“ says Krol. „We want to be the platform where all security threads come together.“
This allows customers to concentrate on what is most important to them: their guests, their events and the on-site experience.
