Friday, 17 July 2026, Vienna: Most people know the Stölting Service Group as a provider of clean and safe stadiums. It is not just sport that inspires and brings people together, but, in particular, the shared values of team sports: vision, passion and team spirit. And this extends far beyond Germany’s borders. Since July 2026, Stölting has been the official security partner of SK Rapid Vienna. As partners, the two organisations share not only a passion for the sport and the year of their foundation, 1899, but above all the same vision: ‘Making it happen together’.
Opposites attract – the Ruhr meets Viennese wit
The Ruhr region is rough-and-ready, straightforward, blunt and terse. A stark contrast to Vienna, where etiquette, opera and elegance are the order of the day. So how does a partnership work when the two sides couldn’t be more different? Dr Boris Westerfeld, COO of the Stölting Group, and Boris Pelikan, Managing Director of Raiffeisen Continuum, share more than just a first name. Both have been shareholders in Wagner RCP Security Holding in Vienna since 2025. Whilst Stölting brings expertise and specialist knowledge in infrastructure-based building management, Raiffeisen is deeply rooted in the Austrian market, understands the local mindset and shares the same vision. To put it bluntly: the folks from the Ruhr are now reading etiquette guides and learning their manners, whilst the Viennese are finally realising that you don’t have to shake hands for ages when you say hello.
A partnership with a secure future
For Dr Boris Westerfeld, Managing Director of Stölting Austria, the new partnership sends a clear message: „In SK Rapid, we are gaining a partner who shares and embodies our values. We are delighted to be taking charge of security at the home matches of the multiple Austrian champions; we are aware of the responsibility this entails and look forward to a bright future together.”
„The partnership with Stölting combines international service expertise with a deep understanding of, and unrivalled network within, the Austrian market. This commitment demonstrates how sustainable, joint growth on an equal footing can work even across great distances,” says Boris Pelikan, founder and managing director of Raiffeisen Continuum.
Alexander Kiss, who is also Managing Director of Stölting Austria, adds: „In Austria, we focus on innovation, quality and experienced local teams. The contract with SK Rapid is both a testament to our work and an incentive for us.“
A solid start to the season and some thrilling moments on the pitch
Preparations ahead of the start of the season have been in full swing over the past few weeks – from liaising with the club to organising staff rosters for admission checks and security duties in and around the stadium.
Even at high-risk matches, Stölting’s security teams take a preventative and de-escalating approach and operate with the utmost professionalism. The deployment of trained specialists impresses not only in Vienna. As a provider of security, cleaning, technical support and catering services, Stölting is a firmly established part of German – and now also Austrian – football. Both partners were already certain before kick-off that SK Rapid Vienna’s dress rehearsal on 5 July would go absolutely smoothly.
In the world of sport, Stölting has been an active partner of German Bundesliga clubs for many years, including Schalke 04, VfL Bochum, Borussia Dortmund, Fortuna Düsseldorf, Rot-Weiß Essen and VfL Wolfsburg. The establishment of the Stölting Austria subsidiary also marked the start of the company’s expansion into Austrian football. Stölting has already brought the necessary expertise and a strong foothold in the Austrian market through its role in providing security for FK Austria Wien and cleaning services at the Generali Arena.
We are looking forward to some thrilling and exciting matches from SK Rapid Vienna in the coming season.
WE PLAY. FOOTBALL.
