Due to various large-scale projects, Stölting is storing 75 million masks.
The purchase was made in varying quantities and mask types. Stölting is storing 75 million FFP2/KN95/N95 masks for the countries of the European Union and the British government.
A subsidiary of Stölting Service Group GmbH, Stölting Sales & Service GmbH from Gelsenkirchen, has received orders from across Europe to bundle and deliver masks. From here, they are distributed nationwide to public services and hospitals.
The goods were delivered by 400 lorries and stored in a logistics area covering approximately 20,000 square metres. This involved over 10,000 pallets, some containing over 20,000 respiratory masks, which were bundled centrally in Gelsenkirchen by Stölting Sales & Service GmbH.
A total of over 500 Stölting employees were involved in this project, working on both the
– all types of logistics services,
– the collateralisation of the vehicles,
– the collateralisation of the properties
as well as many other issues around the clock in order to implement this project. All the logistics, including the construction of additional storage and logistics areas by erecting tents, were completed in less than a week.
After acceptance by the expert commissioned by the federal government to check the quantity and quality of the goods, delivery to the end users began.
Dominik Mosbacher, Managing Director of the Stölting Service Group:
„We would like to express our sincere gratitude to all employees who have contributed to curbing the further spread of the virus and who have carried out this demanding task.“
Mayor Frank Baranowski praised the company after visiting its storage and logistics facilities: „It's good to have entrepreneurs in the city who not only expand their businesses with great economic commitment, but also make decisions in times of crisis that help everyone to overcome the crisis. It is impressive that Hans Mosbacher and his company Stölting have managed to procure 50 million protective masks for the Federal Republic of Germany – the number alone is impressive. This is an extraordinary logistical achievement that will secure the supply of masks in the medical sector for the foreseeable future.“
