The existing cleaning contract between Stölting Service Group and Borussia Dortmund was first extended three years ago, before new talks began at the start of this year. Both sides are more than satisfied with the outcome. Not only has the contract been extended again until 2027, it has also been expanded: Stölting becomes a partner of BVB.

The official partner jersey was presented during the match against RB Leipzig on Saturday, 2 April 2022, when Signal Iduna Park was finally able to play in front of a full crowd again for the first time since the start of the coronavirus pandemic.

Together, the Stölting Group and BVB can look back on a successful partnership:

It all began in 2017, when the Dortmund-based Stölting team took over cleaning duties at Germany's largest stadium. The very first challenge at that time was to completely clean the stadium after a Bundesliga match on Saturday for the planned Christmas carol singing the following day. With increased team power, this was achieved in just 12 hours during the night leading up to Sunday. A task that would normally take 72 hours.

Stölting's special forces took on their next challenge in 2018. They were called into action when the stadium's roof structure had to be cleaned at a dizzying height of 60 metres. Not a job for the faint-hearted!

Even before the outbreak of the coronavirus pandemic in 2019, the Stölting Group had been helping to replace more than 750 old dispensers in the stadium's sanitary facilities and in all other BVB properties, upgrading them with modern systems. So it was nothing new when, in February 2020, the entire Signal Iduna Park had to be equipped to comply with coronavirus regulations within just 24 hours as part of a well-thought-out hygiene concept. By the next match day, visitors were able to use more than 120 disinfection stations in all areas of Signal Iduna Park.

And a quick response was indeed forthcoming in December 2021, when the Dortmund-based Stölting team stepped in with all their manpower: following the decision by the federal and state governments, there was no alternative but to completely re-seate the north and south stands at SIGNAL IDUNA PARK. With a lead time of just half a day, the required conversion to the necessary seating was completed in just 72 hours. A real tour de force.

The chronology of this joint journey is now continuing along new paths. The partnership was officially announced for the first time at Borussia's charity match against Ukrainian top club Dynamo Kiev on Tuesday, 26 April 2022. With a short-term sponsorship deal, the Stölting Service Group will be visibly represented during the match and will make a clear statement against the war in Ukraine with LED perimeter advertising in the national colours of blue and yellow.

The Stölting Service Group will now also be represented in Dortmund in the coming years with its own box, providing effective advertising and visibility. With 50 employees outside of match days and at least 125 employees on match days, the Dortmund-based Stölting team will continue to provide comprehensive support to BVB for all cleaning and service requirements.

„Borussia Dortmund was our entry point into stadium cleaning and opened the way for the Stölting Group to enter a new market segment centred around stadiums and other event venues. Since the launch in 2017, we have been able to win numerous clubs for our cleaning and security services, and more will follow in the 2022/23 season, such as VfL Wolfsburg, FC Bayern Munich, FC Schalke 04 and SV Waldhof Mannheim, to name but a few. With our high staffing levels at peak times, the flexibility of our services and comprehensive overall concepts, we are not only able to score points with our customers and prospects. Thanks to our extensive networks and successful synergies with our partners, we are steering the Stölting Service Group on a good growth course for the coming years. We see the partnership and the extension of the service contract with BVB as confirmation of our performance and would like to thank our strong team of employees for their fantastic commitment!“ According to Sebastian Mosbacher, Managing Director of the Stölting Service Group.

The team led by Dortmund's managing director Patrick Engel would also like to thank BVB for the trust they have placed in them: „We are delighted to now be an official partner of BVB, to continue our collaboration on a new level over the coming years and to be the supporting team at Euro 2024. We will intensify our discussions within the network and will certainly realise one or two future projects together. Here's to a successful partnership!“
