Stölting Service Group strengthens its technical building management capabilities through an investment in Gefahren sucher

A Dortmund-based specialist in occupational health and safety, fire safety and electrical testing services is expanding the Stölting Service Group’s portfolio of technical services

The Stölting Service Group is continuing its growth trajectory and has acquired the Dortmund-based company „derGefahrensucher“ with effect from 1 September 2026.

The company has specialised in occupational health and safety, fire safety and periodic inspections for more than 13 years. „derGefahrensucher“ currently serves around 5,000 branches. Its services are provided throughout Germany by its own specialist staff. „With this investment, we are specifically strengthening our position in technical building management. This is the next logical step on our growth trajectory,“ says Sebastian Mosbacher, managing partner and CEO.

The inspection service includes, in particular, DGUV V3 inspections of portable and fixed equipment and installations. It also covers inspections of charging infrastructure for electric vehicles, racking inspections in accordance with DIN EN 15635, and inspections of ladders and step stools.

Its customers include, amongst others, retail chains, local authorities, hospitals, logistics companies, industrial enterprises and public sector organisations.

Second acquisition in the technical building management sector in two years

Sebastian Mosbacher emphasises the strategic importance of the acquisition for the Stölting Group: „With Gefahrensucher, we are consistently pursuing our growth strategy. We are further expanding our technical expertise and moving a significant step closer to our goal of becoming a nationwide full-service provider.“

Demand for a full-service portfolio is on the rise

With this acquisition, the Stölting Service Group is responding to the growing demand for integrated solutions in technical facility management. At the same time, the company is sending a clear signal of its commitment to further growth and its strong positioning in the market as a comprehensive service provider.

„We extend a warm welcome to our new colleagues and look forward to working with them. We are growing precisely where our customers need us most, thereby consolidating our existing position and systematically expanding one of our key business areas,“ says Dr Boris Westerfeld, COO of the Stölting Group. For Stölting, this expansion of its portfolio is an important step towards future-proofing its technical building management division.

Continuity for staff and customers

Jan Knutinge Kaas, the previous owner of derGefahrensucher GmbH, will remain with the company as managing partner. He will therefore continue to be responsible for day-to-day operations in Dortmund for the approximately 30 employees. „For me, it was crucial to find a partner who fits in with our corporate culture and our high standards of quality. In Stölting, we have found exactly that partner. The merger with the Stölting Service Group not only opens up new customer segments for us, but also ensures continuity for my team and our customers,“ says Jan Knutinge Kaas.
